We were VERY excited to receive this email from Todd of the 'Jersey Todd Show'. It is amazing to me, that you guys are so hip and in-touch with technology as to use podcasting to motivate and teach your students. That totally ROCKS!!!
I am one of the producers for Rayko/KRB, who's song "Equanimity" Mr.D enjoyed. And although some of their other songs may include words you don't want the kids hearing over the PA, we will gladly send "clean" versions if you like. Also, we have a couple of other artists on our roster... Lorena Miré (singer/songwriter) and HollEr (electro-pop) which are all listed in the Podsafe Music Network. Hello Guys,
I heard about your show from my friend Jersey Todd (of the Jersey Todd Show). He mentioned you on a recent podcast episode. I’m in Vancouver, Washington and I hear about a Michigan podcast from a guy in Jersey; that’s a connected world.
Today, I had an opportunity to listen to the episodes. I’m sorry, but, I don’t believe this is a Middle School show! I am not sure if this is project for school credit or just something done for fun and experience. If it is for credit, you better get an ‘A’ for the great job. I’m sure Todd in Jersey has some ‘friends’ available to ‘persuade’ the teachers, if you know what I mean!
Now, the old guy within me starts writing stuff. Podcasting is not easy work. Being in front of a mic isn’t always easy either. I wish I had those opportunities then I was in school. When I was in school…we had to walk twelve miles…no wait, that’s my grandfather’s story!
Instead of taking the opportunity to participate on stage, I simply developed stage fright. I avoided speck classes and anything that required speaking in front of the class. In fact, I was unable to do presentations at work; despite knowing the material quite well. It took getting on a stage three years ago and doing live, improvised comedy (no script, no safety net) to give me the confidence to podcast.
I guess the point I am trying to make is, SIEZE the opportunity to podcast. Get in front of that mic and absolutely know what you are saying is the best thing that can be said. Attack the show! It will be years down the road when you can look back in time and know that podcasting made an impact in your life. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate now (and participate BIG!).
