Hi Science Guy in a Tie!
I finally got a chance to listen to episode 30, and I want to say thank you on behalf of Supraluxe for giving Blue Sky a spin. Re the name - naming a band can be difficult. In our case, we had a working name of Fuzz, but we all pretty much agreed that Fuzz doesn't....it's kinda.....boring. We tossed around a couple ideas. Ultralux, but we decided that sounded too much like Ultravox. Ultralux became Supralux. But the domain supralux.com wasn't available so we added an "e" to the end of our name so we could get a .com domain. Ta-Da. We became Supraluxe. I've always had a fascination with old mainframe computers and I have a large collection of pictures of old iron, so we took a pic of a Univac from 1953 and that became our CD cover, and kind of our "identity" or whatever you want to call it. Supraluxe sounds like a brand name you'd see on a fridge from the 50's so we just rolled with it.
That's our story, possibly much more than you wanted to know! But again, thank you for playing one of our songs on your show.
